Terms of Service

Last Updated: March 26, 2026

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of kiddinglab.com (the "Website"), operated by Ten Dollars, LLC ("Company," "we," "us," or "our").

By accessing or using the Website, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Website.

1. Eligibility and Description of the Service

Eligibility: This Website is intended for use by adults (parents, guardians, educators, or camp providers) who are at least 18 years of age. By using the Website, you represent and warrant that you are 18 years of age or older. Children may not create accounts or use the Website directly.

The Service: The Website provides an informational platform that aggregates, summarizes, and displays information about camps, programs, and child-focused activities (the "Content"). In addition, the Website offers registered users the ability to:

  • Search and filter camp and program listings.
  • Create an account as a parent or camp provider.
  • Save camp sessions and associate them with search profiles for planning purposes.
  • Write and publish reviews and ratings of camps.
  • Build a "village" of trusted connections with other parents for sharing activity and recommendations.
  • Claim and manage camp provider organization profiles (for providers).
  • Submit organizations not yet listed on the Website for review and addition (for providers).
  • Submit sync setup requests to integrate their website data with KiddingLab for automated session updates (for providers).
  • Access analytics dashboards showing aggregated engagement metrics for their own camp listings (for participating providers).
  • Upload school calendar files (ICS or PDF) to import school closure days for camp planning. Uploaded calendars are shared with the community and verified through a consensus-based voting system.
  • Book camp sessions directly through the Website and pay via bank transfer (ACH) or credit/debit card (for participating camps that have enabled online booking).
  • Manage bookings, view payment history, request refunds, and save payment methods for future use.

We collect information from public sources and providers. We use automated and AI-assisted systems to organize and summarize information. Some entries are collected, input, and/or reviewed manually.

We facilitate transactions between parents and camp providers but do not operate camps. Camp providers are the merchants of record for all bookings — Ten Dollars, LLC processes payments on their behalf through Stripe Connect.

2. User Accounts

Registration: Certain features of the Website require you to create an account. When you register, you must provide a valid email address and password, and select an account type (parent or provider). You may optionally provide a display name.

Account Security: You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You agree to notify us immediately at legal@kiddinglab.com if you become aware of any unauthorized use of your account.

Accuracy: You agree to provide accurate and current information during registration and to update it as needed.

Email Address: Your email address is used solely for account authentication, transactional communications (such as booking confirmations and refund notifications), optional notifications such as registration alerts, and account recovery. We do not share your email address with camp providers, third parties, or marketing services. You may update your email address at any time through your account settings. Providers see only your display name in booking records, not your email address.

Account Termination by You: You may delete your account at any time. Deleting your account will permanently remove your profile and all associated data, including search profiles, reviews, saved sessions, registration alerts, notifications, village connections, sharing preferences, and moderation queue entries. Search and engagement analytics data associated with your account is anonymized (your user identifier is removed) rather than deleted; the anonymized event data is retained for aggregate analysis but can no longer be linked to you. Transaction records (amounts, dates, statuses) are retained for accounting and tax compliance purposes even after account deletion. Saved payment methods are deleted when you remove them or delete your account.

Account Suspension or Termination by Us: We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at our sole discretion if you violate these Terms, engage in fraudulent or abusive conduct, or for any other reason we deem necessary to protect the integrity of the Website and its users.

3. Search Profiles

Parents and guardians may create search profiles within their account to personalize camp recommendations. Search profiles may include a name (which may be a nickname), a birth month and year, and optional category interests.

Search profiles are entered by adults only. Children do not interact with the Website or enter their own information. You represent that you have parental authority or legal guardianship over any child whose information you include in a search profile.

We collect birth month and year — not the exact date of birth — to calculate age ranges for camp matching. See our Privacy Policy for details on how we handle children's information.

4. Reviews and User-Generated Content

Submitting Reviews: Registered users may submit reviews and ratings for camps listed on the Website. Reviews are public and visible to all visitors.

Content Standards: By submitting a review, you agree that your content:

  • Is based on your genuine experience with the camp or program.
  • Does not contain false, misleading, or defamatory statements.
  • Does not include hate speech, harassment, threats, or sexually explicit material.
  • Does not contain personal information about other individuals (such as names of camp staff or other families' children).
  • Does not constitute spam, advertising, or promotional content unrelated to the camp.

Content Moderation: Reviews containing text are screened by an automated AI moderation system before publication. Reviews flagged by this system are held for human review by our team. We reserve the right to approve, reject, or remove any review at our sole discretion, with or without notice.

License Grant: By submitting a review or any other content to the Website, you grant Ten Dollars, LLC a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free, perpetual, irrevocable license to use, display, reproduce, modify, and distribute your content in connection with the operation of the Website.

No Obligation to Publish: We are under no obligation to publish, maintain, or display any user-submitted content.

Reviews reflect the opinions of individual users and do not represent the views of Ten Dollars, LLC.

5. Village Connections

The village feature allows parents to connect with other parents they trust to share activity and recommendations. You may invite other users by email. Village connections are mutual — both parties must accept.

Sharing Controls: You control what information is shared with your village through your sharing preferences. You may adjust these settings or block sharing with specific connections at any time.

Invitations: When you invite someone who does not yet have an account, we will send them an email invitation on your behalf. Your display name will be included in the invitation. Invitation data expires after 30 days.

Conduct: You agree not to use the village feature to harass, spam, or send unsolicited invitations to individuals you do not know.

6. Booking and Payment Processing

When you book a camp session through the Website, the contract for participation in the camp program is solely between you and the camp provider. The Website and Ten Dollars, LLC is not a party to that agreement.

Payment Methods

The Website supports two payment methods for camp bookings:

  • Bank transfer (ACH): Payments are processed through the Automated Clearing House network. For payments of $99 or more, instant bank verification is used via Stripe Financial Connections. For smaller payments, micro-deposit verification may be used.
  • Credit or debit card: Standard card payments processed through Stripe.

ACH Authorization

By selecting bank transfer as your payment method, you authorize Ten Dollars, LLC and its payment processor, Stripe, to initiate ACH debit entries from your designated bank account for the amount shown during checkout. This authorization remains in effect for the specific transaction and, if you choose to save your bank account, for future transactions you initiate through the Website. You may revoke this authorization for future transactions at any time by removing your saved payment method from your account settings. ACH transactions are subject to the rules of the National Automated Clearing House Association (NACHA).

Fee Structure

Camp providers pay a base platform fee of 2.9% on the booking price. This fee is deducted from the provider's payout and is not charged to you.

For card transactions, Ten Dollars, LLC retains 2.2% of the booking price as a platform service fee within the base fee. The remaining 0.7% is applied toward card processing costs. For bank transfer (ACH) transactions, Ten Dollars, LLC's platform service fee is the portion of the base fee remaining after Stripe ACH processing costs. In all cases, the total base fee deducted from the provider does not exceed 2.9%.

For card payments, credit card processing costs may exceed the base platform fee. In states where surcharges are permitted by law, the excess processing cost may be passed to you as a clearly disclosed surcharge during checkout. In states where surcharges are prohibited (currently Connecticut and Massachusetts), no surcharge is applied. The checkout page will show the exact amount you will be charged before you confirm payment.

Bank transfer (ACH) payments do not incur surcharges.

Deposits and Balance Payments

Some camp sessions may require a deposit at booking, with the remaining balance due by a date set by the camp provider. If a deposit is required, the deposit amount, remaining balance, and balance due date will be clearly shown during checkout.

Balance reminders: By making a deposit with a remaining balance due, you consent to receive reminder emails about the remaining balance. We send reminders 7 days before, 1 day before, and on the due date.

Automatic balance payments: During checkout, you may optionally authorize Ten Dollars, LLC to automatically charge your saved payment method for the remaining balance on the due date. This authorization can be revoked at any time from your bookings page or via the link in any reminder email. If you revoke authorization or if the automatic charge fails, you will need to pay the balance manually by the due date.

Payment support: For questions about charges, deposits, balance payments, or to dispute a transaction, contact us at support@kiddinglab.com or write to Ten Dollars, LLC, 11140 Rockville Pike, Ste 100 #A299, Rockville, MD 20852.

Refund Policy

Each camp provider sets its own refund policy and refund cutoff period, which are displayed during checkout. To request a refund, submit a request through the Website. The camp provider reviews and approves or denies refund requests. If approved, Ten Dollars, LLC processes the refund through Stripe. Refunds are typically returned to your original payment method within approximately 5–10 business days, depending on your bank or card issuer.

Saved Payment Methods

You may choose to save a payment method for faster checkout in the future. Saved payment methods can be viewed and removed at any time from the Payment Methods page in your account. Ten Dollars, LLC stores only metadata about your payment method (bank name and last 4 digits, or card brand and last 4 digits). Full payment credentials are stored exclusively by Stripe and are subject to Stripe's terms and privacy policy.

Stripe Terms

By making a payment through the Website, you agree to Stripe's Terms of Service and Privacy Policy as they apply to payment processing.

Provider Payouts

Camp providers receive payouts of booking revenue through Stripe Connect, subject to eligibility verification and settlement holds. Payout timing varies based on payment method and verification status.

Chargebacks and Payment Disputes

If a payment dispute or chargeback is initiated by a card issuer or bank, the dispute will be handled through the payment processor's dispute process.

7. Registration Alerts and Notifications

Parents may configure registration alerts on saved sessions. Alerts may be triggered by registration dates provided by camp data sources, dates entered by the parent, or custom reminder dates.

Email Notifications: When an alert is triggered, we send an email notification to the email address associated with your account, unless you have disabled email alerts in your settings. You may opt out of email alerts at any time through your settings page.

In-App Notifications: All triggered alerts generate in-app notifications visible in the notification bell in the header. Notifications automatically expire (are treated as read) after the associated registration date has passed.

No Guarantee: We make reasonable efforts to deliver alerts on time, but do not guarantee that alerts will be delivered at any specific time or at all. Technical issues, email delivery failures, or incorrect registration dates may cause alerts to be delayed, missed, or inaccurate. You should not rely solely on alerts for time-sensitive registration decisions.

8. Provider Accounts and Claims

Camp providers may claim their organization profiles or individual camp listings through an email verification process. By claiming an organization or camp, you represent that you are authorized to act on behalf of that organization or camp.

Participation Tiers and Analytics: Camp listings may be assigned a participation tier that determines access to additional features. Participating providers may access analytics dashboards showing aggregated engagement data (such as page views, outbound clicks, and search sources) for their own camp listings. Analytics data shown to providers does not identify individual users.

We reserve the right to modify, limit, or remove camp listings or provider accounts if we believe they violate our policies or applicable law.

Fraudulent claims may result in account suspension or termination.

9. Provider Sync Setup Requests

Providers may submit sync setup requests to integrate their website with KiddingLab's data synchronization system. By submitting a sync setup request, you provide contact information and respond to questions about your website platform and data format.

Information Collected: When you submit a sync setup request, we collect your name, title, email, phone, and your responses to technical questionnaire questions about your website.

Data Processing: This information is stored in our database and transmitted via webhook to our technical team for evaluation and follow-up. Your contact information may be used to reach out regarding your integration request.

No Guarantee: We do not guarantee that every sync setup request will result in integration. Integration eligibility depends on technical feasibility and operational capacity.

10. No Professional, Educational, or Safety Advice

All Content is provided for general informational purposes only. Nothing on the Website constitutes:

  • Professional or educational guidance.
  • Childcare recommendations or safety endorsements.
  • Health or medical advice.

Camp providers listed on the Website are independent organizations and are not employees, partners, agents, or representatives of Ten Dollars, LLC.

Camp sessions involve activities organized and conducted solely by the camp provider. Ten Dollars, LLC does not verify that camps are real, verify that camps are honest, supervise camp activities, employ camp staff, inspect camp facilities, or control the manner in which programs are conducted.

The camp provider is solely responsible for the supervision, safety, staffing, facilities, and conduct of all camp programs and participants.

You are solely responsible for independently verifying any camp or program — including its existence, offerings, safety records, staff background checks, and licensing — before enrolling a child.

11. Accuracy, AI-Generated Content, and Availability

We strive to provide helpful information, but we do not guarantee that Content is accurate, complete, or current.

AI-Assisted Summaries: Some Content is generated or summarized using artificial intelligence. These summaries may contain inaccuracies. AI-generated summaries are provided as convenience tools and should not be relied upon as authoritative descriptions of any program. You must verify all critical information — including safety policies, dates, and pricing — directly with the camp provider.

AI-Assisted Moderation: User reviews are screened by an AI moderation system. This system may occasionally flag legitimate content or miss content that violates our standards. Human review is applied to flagged content.

AI-Assisted Calendar Parsing: When you upload a PDF school calendar, the file is processed by an AI system (Google Gemini) to extract school closure dates. The extraction may contain errors — you should review the parsed dates before confirming them. The original file is processed in memory and is not stored.

Dynamic Changes: Camp details (prices, availability, age ranges) may change without notice.

Location Accuracy: Location-based search results are estimates based on available data and may not reflect exact travel distances.

We do not guarantee that any camp listing will receive a particular number of views, inquiries, or bookings.

Zip codes were downloaded from geonames.org (Unxos GmbH) and used pursuant to the Attribution 4.0 International license. No warranties provided.

12. Third-Party Links and Services

The Website contains links to third-party websites. We:

  • Do not control and are not responsible for the content or practices of third-party sites.
  • Do not endorse any third-party services unless explicitly stated.

Your interactions with third parties are solely between you and them.

13. Advertising and Affiliate Disclosure

Ten Dollars, LLC does not receive compensation through advertisements, affiliate links, or sponsored placements at this time. If that changes, we will update these Terms and will disclose sponsorships and compensation, including in accordance with FTC guidelines.

14. Intellectual Property

Our Property: All Website content (layout, design, logos, and the unique compilation of data) is owned by or licensed to Ten Dollars, LLC. You may use the Website for personal, non-commercial purposes only. You may not scrape, crawl, or reproduce Content to build a competing service.

Third-Party Property: All trademarks, logos, and brand names belonging to camp providers are the property of their respective owners and are used on this Website for informational purposes only. Camp provider descriptions, logos, and images are displayed for informational purposes with permission or under applicable fair use or under licensing arrangements.

Your Content: You retain ownership of any reviews or content you submit, subject to the license grant in Section 4.

Copyright Complaints: If you believe that content on the Website infringes your copyright, please see our DMCA / Copyright Takedown Policy for instructions on how to submit a takedown notice.

15. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Website for unlawful purposes.
  • Create an account using false or misleading information.
  • Create multiple accounts to circumvent moderation, bans, or review limits.
  • Submit fake, purchased, or incentivized reviews.
  • Use any automated bot, scraper, or "spider" to harvest data from the Website.
  • Interfere with Website security or attempt to bypass our security or moderation systems.
  • Harass, threaten, or abuse other users through reviews, village connections, or any other feature.
  • Impersonate another person or misrepresent your affiliation with a camp provider.

16. Force Majeure

We are not responsible for delays or failures in performance resulting from causes beyond our reasonable control, including internet failures, payment network outages, natural disasters, governmental actions, labor disputes, or failures of third-party services.

17. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE WEBSITE AND CONTENT ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE." TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

22. Dispute Resolution and Mandatory Arbitration

Mandatory Arbitration: You and Ten Dollars, LLC agree that any dispute, claim, or controversy arising out of or relating to these Terms or the use of the Website (collectively, "Disputes") shall be resolved exclusively through final and binding arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association ("AAA") under its Consumer Arbitration Rules, rather than in court.

Small Claims Exception: Either party may bring an individual claim in small claims court if the claim qualifies under that court's jurisdictional limits.

Arbitration Procedures: The arbitration shall take place in Montgomery County, Maryland, or at another mutually agreed location. The arbitrator shall apply Maryland law consistent with the Federal Arbitration Act and applicable statutes of limitations. THE ARBITRATOR MAY NOT CONSOLIDATE MORE THAN ONE PERSON'S CLAIMS AND MAY NOT OTHERWISE PRESIDE OVER ANY FORM OF A CLASS OR REPRESENTATIVE PROCEEDING.
